Come to SXSW with Hashable

Hash-letes – start your stretches and run some laps! We’re looking to engage 5 top connectors as Hash-evangelists at the Olympics of Networking – South by Southwest (SXSW). Hashable plans to have a big presence at SXSW, and we want our top user “evangelists” to help us out and  join in the fun!

The five (5) most awesome Hashable users during the month of January will be sent to SXSW as official Hash-Evangelists.

We’ll reimburse you for your conference ticket, hotels, airfare, and transportation (up to $2500). And you’ll help us #justmet and #connect with as many of the uninitiated as possible. You’ll be at our events. You’ll be wearing the t-shirt. And of course, you can fulfill your own networking agenda too!

Official Selection Criteria to become a HASHABLE EVANGELIST AT SXSW INTERACTIVE!

1.  No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited. Some restrictions apply.  You need not be present to win.

2.  To participate, go to www.hashable.com and register for a free account.

3. The selection period will occur between January 1, 2011 through January 31, 2011. The Hash-evangelists will be announced on this blog and by email & Twitter by February 7, 2011.

4. Evangelist qualifications:

(a) You must be a resident in the US or Canada.

(b) You must be at least 21 years of age.

(c) You must be attending SXSW Interactive during the dates of March 11, 2011 – March 14, 2011.

(d) You must commit to representing Hashable as an “Evangelist”, meaning that we expect you to use Hashable during SXSW and actively encourage users to use the service and/or download the mobile app.

(e) You must be a current registered user of the Hashable service.

(f) You must be an active user of the Hashable mobile app (or commit to downloading the Hashable mobile app for your phone when it is available).

5.  The evangelists will be determined by the Hashable staff based on eligibility (see sections 3 & 4) and frequent usage of our service.  We’re looking to engage registered Hashable users who will be our evangelists, who will use Hashable with extreme frequency, promoting it and encouraging new users to join and/or download the iPhone app.  Hashcred points and leaderboard position for the month of January will be a large factor in our decision, but may not be definitive.

6. We are offering up to $2500 in cash reimbursements or estimates (at Hashable’s sole discretion) for eligible expenses as follows:

(a) Roundtrip Airfare from the US or Canada to Austin, Texas

(b) 3 Nights accommodation at a hotel  (additional nights, meals, liquor, bar or incidental expenses are not included)

(c) Transportation to and from Austin International Airport

(d) SXSW Interactive Badge

(e) An estimate of taxes that may be associated with the prize, net of allowable deductions.

(f) Other expenses at Hashable’s sole discretion.

7. Selection is open to everyone with the exception of employees of Hashable, Inc., its families, agents and representatives.

8. Liability for and remittance of any taxes relating to the engagement are the sole responsibility of the evangelist. No substitutions, assignments or transfers.  If you cannot attend SXSW, or you are prevented somehow from using Hashable while at SXSW, the engagement will be forfeited.

9. By using Hashable during the month of January for the purpose of being selected as an evangelist, you acknowledge and agree that you have done so on your own free will, that the full rules and details of the engagement have been made available in writing and you therefore understand and agree that neither Hashable, Inc., its agents, affiliates, sponsors, representatives or employees have any liability with respect to any damages out of acceptance and use of the engagement. By being considered for this engagement, participants agree to be bound by these rules. Evangelists selected must agree to provide Hashable with contact information and tax payer identification number.

10. Approximate value of the engagement is $2500.

    Hi Lisa! No need to officially ‘enter’ anything – we’ll be looking at the US & Canada leaderboards for the month of January – and we’ll pick 5 people based on Hashcred earned and just in general who we think would be an awesome part of our team down there. Does this make sense?

    (Also not sure if everyone is clear on this so I’ll write it here just to clarify across the boards – we’ll be picking 5 people to reimburse based on January activity and general hash-awesomeness – and beyond those 5, we’re really excited to see everyone else down there too, but can only pay for the 5 official evangelists – hope that was clear to everyone!)

    Hiya Kathy! Yes, it will totally be a blast! We’re going to pick 5 people from the January US & Canada leaderboards to reimburse and invite to be a part of the official Hashable SXSW team. So yes, there is nothing you need to do to be eligible other than just rock Hashable for the month of January. The 5 we pick will be based on both Hashcred earned and just general hash-awesomeness. Hope this makes sense!
